Introduction

The purpose of this guide is to provide framework tools for thesis writing: research templates, APA style sources, writing guidance, bibliographic managment tools. Each tab at the top represents one of those major tools. The literature review process is primarily address through programmatic research courses. Additionally, for general information on how to conduct research using library resources consult Graduate Research Resources

Please Note the Following:

  •  Be aware of all  requirements. By setting the margins, spacing, indentations, etc. before actually writing a thesis you will save  time, effort, and frustration so that when the thesis is submitted you will not have to make vast last minute formatting corrections. These requirements are addressed in the guide sections labelled APA STYLE and TEMPLATES.
  •  The thesis is to be submitted in paper format. Consider creating your these in two files which allows for pagination ease: (1) preface pages and (2) thesis body, references, appendices.
  •  The most crucial up-to-date guide is the Research Paper Template often referred to as the "Thesis Template."

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Graduate School is accepting theses completed this semester based upon the APA Style Manual 5th edition. Beginning Semester 2, the thesis format will be based on the 6th edition.  Both editions are referenced in this guide.
