Introduction
This guide will help you write and format your thesis.
For help with the research process, use Research Resources (left).
Please Note the Following:
- Be aware of all requirements. By setting the margins, spacing, indentations, etc. before actually writing a thesis you will save time, effort, and frustration so that when the thesis is submitted you will not have to make vast last minute formatting corrections. These requirements are addressed in the guide sections labelled APA STYLE and THESIS TEMPLATE.
- The thesis is to be submitted in electronic form by the advisor to the Graduate School. It will be available through the library catalog as a fulltext PDF document.
- The most crucial up-to-date guide is the Research Paper Template often referred to as the "Thesis Template."
IRB Human Subjects
The Institutional Review Board (IRB) for the Protection of Human Subjects is responsible to ensure research is safe.
If your research includes human subjects, you will need to complete the UW-Stout Human Subjects Training and submit the Protection of Human Subjects Protocol form.
By law, you must complete these items BEFORE you begin research.
