The general subject heading AFRICAN AMERICANS is used in the Stout Library Catalog to describe Black Americans.

The general subject headings to use for this ethnic group is INDIANS OF NORTH AMERICA. Additional titles may be found under a subject of the individual tribal name, i.e. OJIBWA INDIANS.
